Is it still as big as it once was?

I used to fileshare a while back on (don't laugh) a dialup connection.

Needless to say it was slower than a dead snail so I gave up quite rapidly.

but now I'm on Broadband (slow varient) I was thinking of checking it out again.

Anyone got any reccomendations for shareware that won't f**k up my 'puter and give me loads of viruses.

Also am I much more likely to get viruses from shared files etc?
What are the best precautions.

Cheers for any advice, I really am quite clueless with non mechanical devices.

First download emule plus from emulepluse.sourceforge.net

Then use that to download Kazaa Lite K++

Then download Soulseek.

eMule - Big stuff, full length movies and big bits of sofware.
Kazaa - stuff you need quickly
Soulseek - Music

Kazaa Lite K++ has worked very well for me.
