Another Trojan Horse

AVG has picked up Downloader.Small 13 BV but is unable to remove it. Other anti virus/troan horse software doesnt spot it, but it is irritatiing me.
I have gone into Explorer to have a look for the file to see what will happen if I try to delete it but cannot even find the file.
This is the abriged title
Local SettingsTemporary Internet FilesContent.IE57JDVR9OWloader[1].exe.
Any ideas?

You might need to turn on the "Show hidden Files" option in Windows explorer to see the local setting folder under your relevant profile.

Had a similar "problem" the other day.
Couldn't find the file anywhere.
Re-scanned the entire machine with AVG and it had gone!
Weird.

I'm wondering if there's some timing issue involved, i.e. by the time AVG tried to remove it, it was already gone, so reported "unable to remove"...

There may be some merit in what you are saying as I 'saw' the Trojan Horse coming in and i thought had been intercepted and cleared at the time.
However everytime I run AVG since it spots it.
Interestingly I ran 'avast' this morning and the commentary in the log was something along the lines that it couldnt find the file.
I wonder if it is more of a AVG problem then?

Could be. I've since upgraded to v7, so we'll see what happens...

Trojans tend to spread manually (IRC, peer-to-peer etc)… make sure you're anti-virus files are fully up to date and run a full scan… if you're using XP, you may also need to turn off system restore...

Just as a postscript.
Deleted AVG 6.(whatever but upto date)
Downloaded AVG7 spotted the Trojan Horse and removed it........sorted.
I might have thought that the updates to v6 may have been equivalent to 7 but clearly not
