Graphics card cooling
Discussion
I think my PC is slowly on it's way out - and as part of trying to get it to boot up I noticed that the fan on my graphics card is dead.
So I have ordered a replacement
but what I am wondering is are there any tips to getting an existing fan and heatsink off without damaging the card/GPU/ my sanity?

Pretty each to fit. Normally the old fans are held on with 2 plastic plug type connectors.
Once you have removed them (squeeze the ends together on the reverse side of the card and push them through the holes) the only thing that will be holding the of fan on is the heatsink compound (which can very sticky).
