Couldn't think of a better place to put this one: anyone else got a Nokia 9210 (or 9210i, I suppose)?
I could do with a copy of the software disc that comes with it; my phone came with none of the bits it should have due to the boss having lost them all, and it being in a desk for over a year.
Tried the Nokia website and there are plenty of bits there (including the user manual, which doesn't help), but I can't see anything relevant to what I'm after. I preume it has a basic 'operating system' that goes on before anything else, that is where I suspect the troubles lie...

Cheers in advance!

Go here to get everything you need - start with the 'Sales Package Software' download.

OK, further to this: why the hell won't the phone talk to my laptop?
I can get the laptop to listen on its IR port, and the phone to do likewise. It might be nice if one or the other would do some talking...
I have PC-Suite for 9210 installed on the laptop, incidentally...

Any Nokia experts out there?

Sometimes with Nokia's you have to chance the speed that the infra port on the laptop talks to it. (Well I had to with my 6230)

I'm not at home but IIRC you have to change the rate from 4000 to 42000 (Or vice-versa)

I've found that I can't get any of the Dell laptops here to talk to any Nokia phones, but a knackered old Toshiba that really ought to be used as a door-stop by now is just fine!

Seconded - My 7250i would talk quite happily with my old Satellite-pro but when I upgraded to my Evesham it kept detecting, not detecting repeatedly. Went into the IRport settings in contol panel and slowed down the bit transfer rate - job done.

Doh! Lord help me, I'm just NOT that bright!
The laptop is on a docking base, thre's an IR window on the base and one on the side of the laptop (or it looks like one anyway). Neither would work. I just found another one on the BACK of the laptop which DOES work...

All this of course is because the cable I bought off Ebay for the PC, won't work with the 9210.
It seems to be wired per MBUS, but apparently the 9210 prefers FBUS until you tell it otherwise - which requires an FBUS cable .
Of course it could be RS232, thus none of the commercial software can talk to the phone cos it doesn't use RS232... why in buggery can't they use one bloody protocol for everything?!
