My nokia 7210 has gone really weird recently.

For starters my profiles have botched up. For instance by "general" is set to ring to sex and the city. Yesterday it started off by a single beep. Then it went to a quiet nokia tune before going back to sex and the city. All without me changing the profile!

Today by single beep profile is ringing nokia tune

It went through a stage yesterday of not saving my sent messages and when I selected a profile it said "back" instead of "profile activated".

I don't get it! I just took it to pieces and now its back together again it's beeping when it should but not sure how long it will ask for.

Any ideas whats up?

I haven't had the same problems with my 7250 but it has had various "quirks". Taking the battery out has solved the problems - probably just needs resetting every now and then.

There is a reset to factory defaults setting somewhere. That should help if taking the battery out didn't fix it. Just make sure you have a backup of all your numbers and everything you want to keep first. Oh

I wrote out a list of my main numbers the other day.

Did a new strange thing yesterday. I had a message and read it but it wouldn't get rid of the envelope sign in teh corner of my screen. When I went into my inbox it had the unopened envelope sign even after opening it several times!

Call your provider, get them to replace it.

T-Mobile replace mine next day when I have issues with my P800 (on the 5th one now!)

It's not on a contract or anything though. I'm on skint student pay as you go (with 300 free messages!) but the phone is sim free.

I've been told I was sent 4 texts that i never received at various times last week and now a number has just "fallen" out my phone book! texts off that person still showed up in their name but wasn't on my list! odd!

Sounds like the phone is slowly dying - is there anyway you can borrow another phone to test the sim in? And if it does happen to be the phone that is kaput do you know anyone with a spare you could use? (Maybe a cry for help on PH might help - I did have a spare 3310 but my bro has half-inched that one this last weekend).

It did even more strange stuff yesterday! Kept getting "sim registration failed" and it was turning itself off.

Also, says my calender memory is full (which it isn't!) and wouldn't show up a reminder I had in it from thursday...all of a sudden today it came back up! I don't get it!

Not sure whether my dropping it on the floor would have helped or hindered this afternoon though!

Could borrow my mum's phone to test the sim in but don't have anything apart from a really really old alcatel max DB which doesn't do what I need now. Also way to big to have in my pocket for work (need to have it on on community).

Had a quick look on Ebay...but I'm an ebay virgin and they still looked really really expensive for a student!

Can anything else go wrong with it!!!! My god!
Its now not recognising all the numbers in my phone book so texts etc just come up with the number not name.

After that happened I saved the majority of numbers from my phone to my sim card just incase. Gave me a good excuse to clear out a load I don't use anymore!

How old is it? Is it still under warranty?
Time for a new one, either way.
