Sempron Query

Just a quick one, more of a check really.

I take it all socket 754 mobos work with Socket 754 Sempron Processors as well as Athlon 64s? Just I have boutgh a MSI K8N Neo and a 3100+ Sempron Socket 754. Will they work?


Just the technician at work reckons the mobos have to be Sempron compatible, but I have a suspicion that he is wrong. Can anyone shed any light on it?

According to AMD's own websote the Sempron 754 and the K8N should work together.

BUT you may have to flash the BIOS on the motherboard to get it to recognize the CPU type, and thats not easy without a working CPU.

If you get a recent bios it should be ok.
