Transferring files from PC to phone

I've just bought myself a new mobile that has bluetooth, and understand that you can copy files (MP3's in particular) from PC to phone (ie, get decent ringtones without paying ludicrous download charges)

How do I go about this?

The phone is a Sony Ericsson K700i

Hi Meeja
You can either get a data cable and software CD that will enable transfer of files and applications to your phone or you can use a bluetooth dongle on the pc and transfer files that way, obviously you will need the file in the first place, I would see if anyone you know has the "ultimate Ericsson CD" that will have millions of ringtones etc.

Yep! It'll play almost any midi you want and MP3's, WAV's etc. Great for annoying others......

That's the plan.... but how do you transfer the file from the PC.... do the bluetooth dongles come with a bit of suitable software?

Bluetooth has a file transfer mode. Once you've associated the phone and the dongle, you should be able to copy what you like.

The dongle comes with the appropriate software. We have a Belkin dongle and my daughter transfers mp3's to her K700i by just right clicking on the file and selecting the 'Send to Bluetooth Device' option and away it goes.

or if you have ir on the phone and pc you can use that aswell
