I want to buy a dedicated digital photo printer. I have got a Sony Cybershot DSC-P9 digital camera that uses Memory Stick media. I know that Sony produce their own printers, DPP-EX50 for example, but they seem a bit pricey. Are some of the others out there - Epson/HP/Canon etc Memory Stick compatible and if so any recommendations as the one to go for.
Any advice appreciated.
Cheers Paul

Probably not the answer you want but www.photobox.co.uk are probably cheaper per print and it is a chemical photo developing printing process rather than an inkjet printing on to the paper which means it *should* last longer.

Most photos come back the next day if I upload them by 3:00pm.

Not that this is a plug or anything

PS If you decide to try them let me know as if I send you a link I get 20 free prints!

A friend of mine has just bought a Canon PIXMA iP5000 printer

www.canon.co.uk/for_home/product_finder/printers/bubble_jet/pixma_ip5000/index.asp

Print quality is very good, But for long term keeeping of pictures I would suggest the same as Davidd, personally i use www.bonusprint.co.uk/pages/digital_prints.htm?OnpageA=1

Very good service and never had a problem with them.

I use a HP photo printer.
It reads several types of cards, has a screen so that you can see what image / amend the print

Use it as a stand alone or connect via usb as an extra printer

Not too bad at just over £100 and really good quality prints

Only draw back is it only does maximum 6 x 4 I think

Thanks for the tips - don't want to go the 'buy your prints in route', although I do realise the quality and service is good. Keen to be self-sufficient, so I'll check out what HP/Canon and the others have to offer.
Thanks trevorw, the Canon looks like it might be a contender.
