Hmm, got an old laptop currently running NT4.

I want to pop 98 on it, but here's the rub:
No floppy available.
Non bootable NIC.
No 98 bootable CD available.

Two partitions. I have put the 98 install files on D: but, I can't boot to DOS to run setup. I can't run convert to change the bootable partition back to FAT and run sys c: either.

Any thoughts how I can get her easily back to booting from DOS without a floppy or bootable 98 CD? I only need to get command.com, msdos.sys etc on her and I'm away.

Petes right - got to www.bootdisk.com and take a 98 bootstrap onto a bootable CD. Nero etc will let you do this.

Think bootdisk.com has instructions on how to do it.

98 requires drivers for a USB stick...

He has no floppy drive..

hmm...

I'd be tempted to take the hard drive out of the laptop and use a 2.5" to 3.5" convertor and work on it on a proper PC then
