I'm trying to make up a DVD of some footage I have, and am just adding the soundtrack. Some of the music I have is Mp3, and some I am ripping straight from CD to Wav. I am finding that the sound levels vary between some of the tracks, when I need them to all be at the same level. I have a utility called Mp3 Gain that can equalise the Mp3 tracks, but does anyone know of anything that can do the same to the Wav tracks, or how to do it using something like Cool Edit?

The most automated solution might be to convert your wavs to mp3, and then you can Mp3Gain everything.
In Cool Edit, it's Transform->Amplitude->Normalize (at least it is in my slightly old version). You then specify a value to normalize to (probably 100%).
