I am installing an AMD Sempron 2800 into a Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro 2 motherboard.

Windows shows the processor speed at 1.2ghz, which I am sure is wrong!

I have flashed the BIOS to the latest relese, but I think that I will need to set the clock speed manually.

Does anybody know what the settings for clock speed and multiplyer should be for the Sampron 2800?

Any help gratefully received!!!

The Sempron 2800 runs at 2Gz with a multiplier of X12.

Still bored and still at work .

Windows is notoriously bad at hardware identification. It regularly shows dual 2.4ghx xeon compaq servers as quad pIII 550s.
