God Bless t'inernet & web cams

Over here int Emerald Isle they can be a bit behind the times.
Some dear friends who live nearby have a father who is very ill. One of the sons has had to stay here over xmas to work the farm whilst the other two have flown out to New Zealand to be with their ageing father.
Their father's sister Auntie Gwen (bless her, is also getting on a bit but in fine form) hasn't seen her brother for a long long time now.
Cue The Excession with a cunning plan that you might have spotted from the title. A webcam - plan is to put a link together for xmas day so they can speak to and see each other.
I know it will knock their socks off if I can pull it off (fnar fnar) as in true Irish form they are all mostly still living in the early 70's where VHS was the stuff of a mad-mans dreams.
Now, I've bought them a web cam for an xmas pressent and have been working with grandson number one to check out the link - I'm on a sat link so my rtt's are actually longer than a wired link to NZ.
We've had MSN and Skype going - MSN for the pictures and skype for the audio. It's a bit ropey but then you kinda expect that with a ropey 56K modem call in rural Ireland.
So, my question to the PH massive is, as Skype doesn't support video at the moment, can we do better than MSN Messegner for the vid link?
Many thanks
