Win 2000 corrupt profile

Anyone know how I can get old emails of outlook for a friend who has corrupted their profile ?

Should be in a file name 'something'.pst within the documents and settings path.

Yeah - then in Outlook just go to File-->Open-->Personal Folders File

Reboot. Log in as local admin, rename the corrupted profile in documents and settings. Log back in as the user to recreate the profile. Log back in as administrator then copy any documents, favourites, .pab .pst and .wab files into appropriate places. Import these files in outlook to restore the email and address book.

If it's on 2K, chances are that even as admin, you won't have permissions on the old profile directory. You will need to take ownership of files and subfolders before you can get to the files you need.

Right click folder, properties, security, advanced, owner.

Change owner and don't forget the subdirectories check box.
