Just been asked by a helpdesk to do a file search, when I do so both by start/search and in explorer, the system starts to look and then freezes findind no files and only showing one folder that it's looking at (not hanging). If I press stop it still thinks it's searching but I can close the program?

Any ideas?

Open a command prompt...

Go to the root of C...

Type in... dir NAMEOF FILE.??? /s

so if the file is pie.txt then put in...

dir pie.txt /s
