Oh good, the least trustworthy software company ask us to now trust them with blocking spyware.

Soon they'll bundle it in with the OS in an effort to force a bunch of other companies out of business.

They really learnt their lesson with the netscape thing though didn't they?

Any one else think this is like giving the key to the banana plantation to a monkey and telling it not to invite his friends around as soon as I've popped to the shops?

No? Just me then.

thinking about it, MS are providing one solution to a problem they have created without first fixing all the holes...

It's not Spyware that gets me, it's all the bloody virii/trojans that seem to get in regardless!

It's not an original MS product, they bought another company before Christmas.

I've installed it and was quite impressed. I used to have Kazaa installed but removed it some months ago, and used AdAware and Spybot Search and Destroy to remove the spyware bits. Microsoft's program found 3 remaining pieces of Kazaa adware that had been totally ignored by the other two programs.

Microsoft recently acquired www.giantcompany.com and have now released a 'free' beta version of the same software.
Soon it will be chargable, so I very much doubt it will be bundled with any future MS OS
