Can anyone recommend any software to recover data from an NTFS quick formatted drive(my backup disc failed!)

www.restorer2000.com is a very cost effective starting point. I have used it with great success. The demo version even lets you see what's actually there before buying.

I had very good success with Ontrack Easy Recovery Pro v.6.0.

Restoration is a freebie, with a small installation footprint (ideal for sticking on a USB key or floppy). Isn't quite as user-friendly or feature packed as some of the commercial demos I've tried, but as far as recovering recently deleted stuff goes, it seems to work just as well.

edited to add: just noticed you're asking for something that can restore a formatted drive... not sure if Restoration will do this.

Cheers all, done and dusted. I tried Restorer 2000 and it recovered the stuff I wanted, it's saved me a whole weekend of manually updating me Fantasy Football league
