Quick question:
Can someone briefly explain what these are, why they are different and does one have any advantage over the other.

I am wondering because I have a Samsung laser printer which sporadically decides to print blank sheets when set to PCL5e, but seems OK when set to PCL6. This has only just started to happen and has me a little puzzled?

Thanks

Printer Control Language.

The 5e and 6 are the release numbers.

There is also PostScript which does ostensibly the same thing if your printer supports it.
