Installed Firefox and Windows Service Pack 2.

Firefox is screwed, I can't access any sign in page (ie on E-Bay I have lost access to My EBay), as well as that
it does not download Java applets and Plugg Ins when missing.

What is the story ?

I tried to put the SP2 Firewall in the Off position to no avail......Very annoying

You will need to seperately install any plugins such as java, shockwave, etc. etc.

Can't help you on the sign in pages though, sorry.

Very odd.

I stuck SP2 on, disabled the crummy windoze firewall and continued as normal.

The Mozilla tech forums are usually pretty useful. It'll be a daft setting somewhere no doubt.

With firefox being a new browser to your computer you will have to go through the log in procedure as you did when you first logged in. This is because your cookies from your old browser don't apply. Just a case of visiting the sites and logging in using firefox(not registering! just logging in)

I haven't installed SP2 and will not as it's seems to bugger up systems. If it works leave it (I have a hardware firewall), besides a lot of the fixes in SP2 I think are Internet Explorer fixes which if you are using Firefox are not needed. I may be wrong though.

its possible you might need to set up the browser to allow webites to install software, ie plugins etc
goto tools, options, web features and check the boxes are ticked
