My brother-in-law is currently seeking work in the IT industry, specifically in relation to AS400 support.
He lives in Hants and would prefer work in the region but willing to commute. Any help/advice much appreciated.
Cheers

If he hasn't already done so, get him to post his CV on the job web sites. Not sure what AS400 jobs are out there but the agencies use these sites heavily.

Someone knowing an AS400 inside & out should start consulting.

It's a dying computing standard, so noone (including me) wants to spend the time learning it.

I know there are still lots of these servers running financial systems in the city. (Phasing ours out)

Best of luck. James.

Its not a dying computer standard at all, iSeries, for that is what it is now called, sales are higher than ever due to IBM selling one machine and then an operating system to define that machine.

There is a crowd in Surrey called Laser Recruitment who are very good indeed. www.laserrec.co.uk

They should be able to find him something.

As an aside jh, would your company need any consulting work on getting off the 400?

Funnily enough, there is a massive iSeries reseller and consulting service provider in Hampshire called Triangle.

They always seem to be recruiting...

Tell him to go to JobServe and upload and activate his CV.
