Pesky Virus problem
Discussion
I am sure I have a virus on my laptop but cannot find it.
The symptoms are when I start up Outlook Express a recent opened application will try and access the internwet. This app. might be windows task manager, autoroute, excel or anything.
Norton antivirus/firewall alerts me to this and asks my permission to allow access.
I decline, as I dont want task manager to access the net.
This alert is flagged up each time the 3 email accounts i use are accessed in sequence.
The only way to get round it is to shut down OE and open it again. It generally happens only immediately after a reboot or hibernation.
Furthermore, often, after coming out of hibernation, the laptop qill not respond to requests to open any application. If I ctrl/alt/del, I find that IE is running in the processes section. If I end that instance of IE, the system unfeezes.
I have tried cw shredder, adaware, spybot, NAV etc to no avail.
any ideas guys?
