Theres some built into Windows.

Open the help centre and type Internet Connection Sharing.

You should buy an ADSL router really, makes things a lot easier and more secure...

Get an ADSL router. Built in firewall and you won't need a pc to be running 24/7.

Depends on what hardware and OS you have. Personally, you're best off going down the hardware sharing route (ie a router), the software option will drain resources from the PC connected to the BB modem and will need to be switched on all the time for the other PC to access BB.

Something like

Or this (with wifi)

ICS will give you nightmares and headaches. I too recommend an ADSL router (I have a Netgear DG834) in place of your normal modem.

Yep, even using ICS

Spend the £65 and buy a router though, it will save you £65's worth of headaches easily...

I should think so, you can network between the platforms, don't see why you can't share a t'internet connection.

As stated here, your life will be made so much easier if you use a router.

Definitely 2nd the router option.

I've got WIn98, 2k & XP machines at home wirelessly connected through a Belkin router and sharing the same ADSL connection.

It just works.

Has anyone mentioned that you would be much better off getting a router?

Sure, why not...

If you want to "future proof" your installation, get a router with built in wireless access point as well. Linksys make a fantastic one. Just don't forget to encrypt your wireless...

Vixpy...

Got a spare pc? doesn't need to be that good a spec, try Software 602 Lansuite...

www.software602.com/products/ls/

It's free for up to 5 users, includes proxy, mail server and a whole lot more (including WAP interface so you can check your mail on the move)...
