Good Morning all,
I am currently trying to load a lot of my cd's onto a 20gig ipod.Unfortunately some of the cd's must have an "anti-copying" device on them 'cos I can't rip them. The software just says that there is a blank disc in the drive. Can anyone give me a hint as to how I can get around this.? Thanks.

Take them back to the shop you bought them from, stating that they are not CD's as they do not meet the CD standard and therefore shouldn't be sold as such or have the CD logo displayed on them. Download said tracks from P2P and copy to your iPod in the usual manner.

(not that I encourage piracy but if record companies are so flippin' ridiculous as to manufacture a product designed not to work - what choise is there???)

I have used Easy CD-DA extractor software for copying a copy protected CD on to the PC and converting it to MP3 in the past. Downloadable from the net for free.

For the best quality MP3 try www.bestmp3guide.com

I tried it last night and it works a treat.

I have yet to find a copy protected CD that my PowerBook won't rip! The iBook I had before it was the same. Buy a Mac!

Yep. I have burned every CD I have ever owned and plenty more on top of that. No problems.

A fast Mac with OSX Panther and Microsoft Office. The perfect computer.

Problem arises when you buy them online and you can't return them
