Website Hosting

A common question I know.

Need a cheap, but reliable hosting company for a couple of community based websites I run. Hosting company for one may have gone tits up, certainly site currently unavailable, and other is costing a fortune for very little.

Need to be able to have at least 3 MySQL databases spread between the 2 domain names.

Have clicked on the Register1.net link which at time of posting was on this page. Anyone use then?

Register1 are a great firm. Used them in the past and still use them for registering domains for my clients.

At present I have > 10 PH'rs using Register1 VDS accounts, and > 50 using Register1 for Domain names..

I've been using wwwServer for hosting my Fantasy Footy website basically so that the price of the service doesn't take too much out of the prize money. It doesn't mention mySQL but it may be available if you enquire.

edited to add. just spotted mySQL is available with the advanced package for 25 notes a year. So Register1 is looking like a good option.

Just an FYI, you get unlimited MySQL databases with the VDS accounts, more traffic than you could reasonably use (as shown by the fact noone have ever used up the top allowance) and hosted in UK

You should 'convince' them that a UK company should host IN the UK, Leave the USA for the Septics

It's sooo easy to tell when someone hosts with a proper UK company using UK based servers. The speeds are just so noticably cheaper.
