Upgraded an HP Elite 8000 to Windows 10. Now I cannot get the display port to work. VGA works fine but 2nd monitor to display port show up. It's as if Windows doesn't think the connection is there as no noise is made when the display port cable is plugged in. Nothing showing reference to display port in device manager either.

What graphics card does it have? Install the latest Win 10 driver and see if it works.

Windows10 does come with a few driver issues, but for the Win10 upgrades here, nothing (providing it's not too old) has not been able to be resolved with a manufacturer's latest drivers.

Just built the machine again with a fresh copy of Win 10 (Not upgrade) but the display port still isn't working.

Machine is HP Elite 8000

Device manager states display adapter is 'Intel Q45/Q43 express chipset) And it says this is up to date.
One screen is recognised as generic plug&play with VGA but the other displayport/DVI adapter monitor isn't.

You need the driver for the "other device".

The other device is just the Serial port. Which I will not use.

Try the intel driver update utility.

I can't think why even a older driver wouldn't work, given the Windows Driver Model is the same, but if not, you may need to buy a cheap current Nvidia or AMD graphics card (making sure you get a DP one).

Have you checked the BIOS to ensure that the DP output hasn't somehow been disabled?
