Hi
I have a mapped network drive that I use al the time as it is where the contolling software lives for our business.

On this new PC it will not automatically recconnect at logon (although that is ticked)? If I just click on it in explorer of my computer then it is instantly available!

Any suggestions as it is annoying if not crucial.

You're set to use "quick logon" rather than "log on and restore network connections".

Can't find the blummin tick box at the mo to guide you to the setting as I'm on a Novell network.

Thanks
I've searched all the help files and clicked everything in sight, but no information on how to change a log in type?

It's in the properties for "Client for Microsoft Networks" or "File and Print Sharing for Microsoft Networks" but only on certain versions of Windows.

I find that restoring network drives can be a bit of a pain in a peer-to-peer network. I usually write a script that remaps the drive every time you log in.

I think newer versions of windows (by that I mean 2000 and ahove) don't connect until you actually use the resource - so you will get the image of the disk with the little red x in explorer, until you click on it.

However anything trying to use the network resource should be able to do so - what problem are you having?

I have a shortcut icon on the desktop, when I click it without first going in to explorer you get an "invalid drive" error message. No red cross in explorer and drive seems available instantly on clicking in explorer, would just like to avoid having to do this as it is the program I use most often.

Thanks
