Sony DVD recorderd +(plus) or -(minus)

going shopping on way home and want a DVD recordable or two any one care to remind me as i have a sony DVD recorder does it take plus or minus on the configuration?

and can anyone explain why there is the difference or is the whole beta max vhs thing again but newer and more portable?

I beleive these actually take both, the only media of that kind they don't like is DVD-RAM.

I could be wrong though, as I don't know the Model number of your machine, which you could google for and check

The one you want from Sony is:

Internal: DRU-720A


External: DRX-720UL


Both of these burners do all media types including Dual Layer (8.5gb).

Minus R is better for older DVD set top box players if you are planning on encoding movies for home viewing. Other than that, they are about the same.
