Where would you go to get the best deal on a laptop if you had £900 to spend?
Laptop needs to be new and from a dealer with warrenty, not from the loot, E&M, ebay etc.

Make and model isn't an issue, but the laptop needs to have a Centrino 1.6Ghz Pro min and 256MB Ram, 40GB HD and if poss a good graphic chip (Radeon 7500 and above).

Thanks

D3

Try Dell or nip down to PC world and see what offers they have on.

My mate has just picked up a very nice Advent laptop for under £800. Nice and small as well with a widescreen display.

If you know the spec you need then Dell online's March Madness sale might be the place to go

E-Buyer usually very competetive on price - this looks quite good.

John Lewis often have good deals.

For £900 you can expect a VERY good laptop.

Also worth going up and down Tottenham Court Road (if you're near London).

My preference is for Sony Vaio or Fujitsu, but all the main brands are good, just depends what deal is on offer.

Make sure you get fast ethernet, wi-fi, infra red, blue tooth and firewire as a minimum. Also DVD, and maybe card reader.

friend of mine is after a new laptop.
I have told him to steer clear of PC World and Dixons as i know from experiance that these buggers are expensive compared to mail order. Hence the reason why i asked.
So far i have found a Sony for £870 inc VAT that meets the requirements, but i feel i can get more if i choose another brand (i think Sony are quite expensive for what they offer)
