Quickbooks 2005 Pro problem
Discussion
After reading much about it and reviewing the book keeping packages such as SAGE, MYOB, Dosh, Simply etc, I finally plumped for Quickbooks 2005 Pro. It "does" everything that I want the package to do, seems simple enough to use and has the benefit of a very pretty interface.
However.....
I soon discovered that on my desk PC, the function to print invoices/reports/purchase orders etc to pdf, or have them sent via email in pdf does not bloody work. I just get error messages to the effect that it couldn't do it so contact tecnical support blah de blah.
Now, I have bought this software legitimately at nearly £300 so I want it to work 100% and 100% reliably. It is also loaded onto my notebook - and works absolutely perfectly there so this has had me really puzzled.
After what seemed like an eternity, I got put through to one of 'those' call centres somewhere in India, and frankly they were totally useless and just said, "your are using XP SP2, we don't support that". Damn right they don't, they don't seem capable of "supporting" anything else either. The excuse about XP2 is cobblers as my notebook uses that.
So...I have bundled the software back into its box to send back to Intuit (A'int U a twit) for a full refund.
I'm really disappointed because this software just looked SO good, but feel that their support (30 days free) is crap and that it the software cannot be trusted. Can anyone please:
A. suggest anything else I can try to make it work properly (tried reinstalling the interntal Intuit printer - but my notebook does not even have that and it works OK)
B. Suggest a nice piece of software with good graphical interface, capable of making professional invoices, tracking time spent on various jobs - for less than £300 ( I am a VAT registered sole trader currently working as a consultant).
Long post - but if you have read this to here, many thanks!

Not supporting Win XP SP2 is balls. There is a patch for 2004 Pro on their site.
I would call them back and get the person sacked.
Then head on over to http://quickbooksusers.com/ and ask your questions.
