Backing up disks/volumes

I used to used Norton Ghost, but on a new install its telling me that the MBR virtual dll has no space...yikes.........have no idea whats going on.
I'm trying to backup my C partion to a D partition, so in the event of a crash I can restore straight over the top of Windoz media centre 2005...

So what other programmes do you guys use to make a copy of a disk/partition that you can restore with miniumum fuss
