AdAware SE freezes

Following advice from your kind selves I downloaded AdAware SE and ran it a few times to clear out spyware. No problems.
However now when I try to run it, it freezes at about file 42,000 somewhere in the registry and I have to do Ctrl/Alt/Del to quit.
I've tried re-installing but no change - any thoughts as to how to get it going again?

Thanks Doc. As it's not a matter of life and death I think I'll use the other programmes instead!
