Can someone remind me what it was called?

Whilst having a sort out of old back up discs this morning it would appear that I have unwittingly installed a virus that keeps rebooting my PC.

I restarted in safe mode and did a scan using Norton which turned up nothing.

Any ideas?

If its Blaster, it affects the RPC subsystem, and it WILL display on screen, a warning that the system is going to REBOOT in 30 seconds, and count down.

If this ISNT happening locally, then your problem lies elsewhere.

Jamie, it reboots instantly after log in. I tried a specific blaster remover and it didn't find anything so you appear to be correct.

Any further thoughts?

I thought Blaster only invoked a reboot when it detected an internet connection?

Problem solved.

Removed a bit of software that I installed yesterday. Direct CD doesn't work with DVD Rewriters.

Sorry to have troubled you Sirs.
