Printer won't print all the way across the page
Discussion
My next door neighbour has an elderly PC running W98SE and does his prints on a Canon BJC-230. All was going well until late last week. Then his printer started printing all the text/pictures in the left hand half the page.
I have confirmed that this happens in a number of programs, and not just Word 2000. I have also run a test print to prove that the printer will print all the page. I have also checked all the printer settings in word and Control Panel to make sure that A4 paper size is selected and that the page has reasonable margins set.
However, it still only prints in the left hand half the page....
Any ideas?

1) Run the self test print (download manual to show how)
2) If this prints ok, its probably a driver issue. Download the latest driver.
3) Its
ed by a new one there only £40
edited to add:
4)Check there is no foreign body's or jusk fouling the mechanism (from my IT service days) like paperclips, false teeth etc

Thanks for the replies!
We have done a test print and it covers the whole page. I agree with you that this means the printer is working OK - ie no obstacles and that the snag lies with the driver.
I will go round again to check the 2 pages per page setting. Although interestingly it compresses all the text in to the left hand half of a portrait A4 sheet - with the text in the correct orientation too.
We will have a play with updating the drivers too.
