Morning

Couple of questions re. favourites in IE.

Firstly, is it possible to somehow export favourites to a CSV-type file?

Secondly, I've got hundreds of the things. Interested to see how other people categorise them because I can never find anything!

Cheers

You can do it via a batchfile:

cd C:\documents and settings\[username]\Favourites

dir/b >> c:\documents and settings\[username]\desktop\favourites.txt

This will create a list of the favourites you have.

Cool that's useful.

Is it possible to do that but to also get the actual URL for the page in the list as well?

In IE

If you do File>Import and Export

Then select Export Favorites

Then Next

Then give the file to be created a name and location

Then Finish.

IE will now have created you a HTML page containing all your favourites.

Which I didnt know was there and is bloody handy...

Cool - I had no idea that the /b switch was in there. I often build file lists and have to strip off the extensions and other folder data.
