New Domain and email
Discussion
I want to set myself up with a domain so I can have emails delivered (and sent from) 'mydomain'.co.uk (thus 'me@mydomain.co.uk') rather than using either and @outlook.com or @gmail.com.
From advice on here, I've looked at TSOHost and VidaHost and it seems that I can get a domain from Vidahost (cheaper than TSOHost) and some hosting services (web page - nothing fancy - possibly only one static page) and email from TSOHost (cheaper than VidaHost).
Anyone see any snags in this?
I've not done this before so I'm guessing it should be an easy task (relatively) to get the email talking to the domain name?
VidaHost want £5.99yr for the domain and TSOHost want £14.99yr for hosting with up to 10 mailboxes (I probably need/want 3).
What else am I missing or should I consider? I'm also assuming I can set this up to use MS Outlook (Office 2013 - IMAP) without any issues
All advice eagerly/gratefully received..

Unless you're selling shoe shines the cost of your web hosting is a minor cost and you should seek out a reliable provider. Which means someone other than TSO host. From advice on here, I've looked at TSOHost and VidaHost and it seems that I can get a domain from Vidahost (cheaper than TSOHost) and some hosting services (web page - nothing fancy - possibly only one static page) and email from TSOHost (cheaper than VidaHost).

Thanks for all so far - I already have Office Pro 2013 so don't need the extra functionality of O365, nor am I about to buy a new car (with say Air Con) to supplement my old one which I already own (but need to open the window on).
Now looking at Zoho mail and VidaHost for the domain. Thanks!

Office Pro 2013 is just the application suite on your computer. Office 365 is the email hosting platform which is based on Exchange. Miles better than IMAP/POP and Zoho mail. They're about the same cost. Now looking at Zoho mail and VidaHost for the domain. Thanks!

Thanks, If I look at Zoho, all I need is the email bit, not the office stuff, CSS, apps, GSuite etc, so I can get that with their free offering. If I go for their basic package, it will be £1.50PCM if I sign for a year.Looking at O365, the smallest package they do is £7.90 PCM, again signing for a year - so what am I missing that makes them the same price?
The domain will cost £5.99 for 1 year, no discount for more years but I can sign for up to 10 at that price.
Zoho and domain therefore is £5.99/year if free, or £23.99/year if basic package and O365 and domain is £100.79/year

What you want is Office 365 business essentials https://products.office.com/en-gb/compare-all-micr...Looking at O365, the smallest package they do is £7.90 PCM, again signing for a year - so what am I missing that makes them the same price?

3.80 per user/month.
I've used Zoho before. Office 365 is a much better interface, better spam filtering and better everything else really.
OP - you mention you have Office 2013 Pro (and from how you have described, I assume this is standalone, and not O365 based), which is now End of Life.

I understand that you have probably never used support, and as you say don't need the additional functionality. However there will be a point in time, who knows whether 6 months, 1 year, 5 years, 10 years when you need to upgrade. If you go with Office 365 (£9.40 package) you get continuous upgrade through the life of the product for Office - as well as the email. I had to use Office 2007 on an old PC recently - it felt like working on Windows 3.1 (for those that remember that!).
Last time I bought a license (was for business rather than home) it was £250+. Worth a consideration?
I have had an Office subscription for a few years now, and paid for a separate hosted email account. This year I finally got around to merging the two, and some of the other products are pretty good, and I've started using some of the other functionality too.
