Has anyone on here succesfully left Tiscali and managed a fairly seemless transfer to new supplier. Spoke to them this morning as trying to move to UKOnline (8mb now available ). Tiscali saying cannot give me a MAC code due to a "problem at BT"!! What I need to do is serve out my 1 month notice period (fair enough was expecting that), they will then close my service down. I then need to wait for BT to remove broadband "markers" from my line (10-18 days) before I can sign up for a new service, presumably for BT to then have to reactivate Broadband on my line - seems a bit stupid to me and leaves me broadbandless for quite a period - pain when I work from home.

Quick google would indicate that Tiscali do like to make it hard as possible to leave them. I guess the hope is that with a possible 2-3 week interuption to your broadband supply you will just decide to stay with them Well it ain't going to work with me I'm still off and now just a bit more pissed off than I was before. Well done Tiscali

Unfortunately Tiscali haven't signed up to Ofcom's code of practice that says 'you must provide a MAC code on demand' and so they refuse to do so, meaning you're pretty much stuck with doing a cease / reprovide.
