wireless network no IE

my brother is in spain on a telephonica adsl with wireless network installed

now he can send e-mails
he can ping external ip addresses
and do trace route
but IE comes up with page not found

as ping and trace route work i assume it is accessing DNS servers ok ,

any ideas why IE doesn't work

He needs to point his router at the DNS address of his ISP. It is listed in the connection details when he signed up.
