Windows System Restore Not Working.

I have recently added a SATA hard disc to my PC, this is now the boot drive having copied everything over from the previous main drive. The problem now is that whn I try to run system restore it "bombs out" with an error message.

Does anyone know of a way of repairing or re-installing system restore? I have tried using the original XP CD but there is no option for repairing/reinstalling system restore.
