I uninstalled Norton Internet Security and Systemworks last night. Now when I open PH the drop down lists aren't there and when I try and open Gmail it won't display at all Can anyone advise what I've done. Also when I click preview before posting a message it won't!

Are you blocking pop ups? (via windows if no internet security installed)

the last time i tried to get shot of norton it was such a dismal failure i wished i'd left well alone as i've been told its nature is quite invasive, and removal not to be taken lightly.
good luck.

Bump! Any fresh ideas on why I can't see drop downs or Gmail or get pop ups (The windows pop up blocker is disabled)

Try resetting your security settings, that should sort out enabling scripting and so forth.

In IE go to Tools - Internet Options - Security Settings, make sure Internet is selected and press the default level button. Should set security to medium (possibly from custom or high) and hopefully things will start working again then.

Yeah I tried that but the problem remains I'm losing the will to live I'm sure it must be something relatively simple! It seems strange that neither gmail or Windows update display anything! IE seems to go through the motions and then displays done at the bottom but with a blank screen! Also not being able to preview posts! The pop up blocker is disabled
