AVI to MPEG4 converter

[maranellouk]

Boys,

I am having problems converting my avi files to mpeg4. The program I use "3GP converter" keep giving me an error message but converts everything else without problem.

Reason being is I have loads of Simpson episodes in avi format and I am trying to convert them to MPEG4 to run on the PSP.

Any suggestions?

Cheers in advance.

Try VLC from VideoLan. It converts anything to anything (use the stream checkbox, and then transcode into any flavor you fancy at whatever bitrate.

All that and its free.

A truly great bit of software!

Fantastic. Thanks alot for that.

Does it definitely do Sony's flavour of the h.246 standard though?

Check out www.psinext.com if you get stuck. They have a PSP forum just for converting videos with pretty much all the options for converting on PCs or Macs.

Should get the Simpsons down to 50-60Mb an episode
