Just a quick question for you techies since the search facility is down. I seem to remember someone asking about it fairly recently:

How do I get the cmd window to stay open so I can read the actions that have been taken, instead of it disappearing as soon as the action it is taking is completed?

Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers.

Start menu, run, then cmd in the box will open the command window. Then enter the path to whatever it is your trying to run.

or Start>Run> Command

if it's 98 or before.

Sorry, should have explained better.

A program that I am using opens it's own command window. It's this one that I want to hang about so I can read what it's doing before it disappears.

Edited to add: XP Pro btw.

I presume the program will be running a batch file, locate this and add the 'pause' command at the end.

Create a short cut on your desktop for the file, right click on the shortcut - select properties then the program tab and untick the "close on exit".
