using htacess to....

[JnrJnr]

Hi all, hopefully you will be able to offer some assistance.

Im wanting to change the default page that loads on our web site from index.htm to index2.htm. Now, i know that this should be done through the htaccess file on the server - but not sure how.

I tried my hosts technical support, but they would not help because it is a software issue....

I have copied in below the info already in my htacess file, from my reading i would expect it to show that index.htm is the default and i would only need to edit the existing text. I dont htink this is the case though...
