You gotta admit, Tiger sounds better than Shoehorn...

I'm waiting until 10.4.1.

Shouldn't be too much of a wait, and will no doubt be a time saving in the long run.

PS For any MS junkies smirking, I gave up on Bill at Win98SE. Still waiting for something decent...

I couldn't hope to out-smirk a Mac-owner The fact you get bits of applications with wallpaper showing through freaks me out...

Well, it arrived about mid-day.

+ only 20 mins to install (archive & install option)
+ install kept all of my settings (network, favourites, email, etc)
+ faster than Panther on my Dual 1.25 G4
+ spotlight seems really nice
+ dashboard fun - to many USA only widgets as standard
+ much better Safari / Mail
+ VPN split-tunneling works!

- Questionable stability of new Safari.
- had to re-install print driver
- new version of quicktime means to need to re-purchase pro licence
- no real improvement to finder.
- new Mail looks really REALLY awful. Bring back the old look please.
- New 'metal' headers look amateurish.

Still loads of behind-the-scenes stuff to find out so too early to give a full verdict but so far worth-while but nothing jaw-droppingly amazing compared to Panther. Of course, Panther was fairly amazing itself...

Hi page3
I'd be interested to know if you are you using any of the following programs and whether they work happily after the upgrade. I'm due to get Tiger on Tuesday but don't want to run the risk of any of these not working:
QuarkXpress 6.5, Adobe: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesignCS, FreeHandMX, Acrobat 6 Professional.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Paul
