Laptop for running accounts/payroll/Sage

What kind of spec laptop spec do you need to run Sage accounts and payroll software? They have done accounts before and they're signing up for a new accounts course and will be using Sage, so they need a PC to do it on. Would processor and memory be the most important parts of the spec?
An Amazon search brings up a lot of Lenovo Thinkpads when I spec a 2GHz+ i5 and 8GB RAM. Would something like these do the job?

Do they not list recommended / minimum specs for machines along side the software?
/edit like this https://www.sage.com/ca/sage-50-accounting/lp/sysr... so you can base any choice on that

I didn't see that spec page, I found this one https://my.sage.co.uk/public/help/askarticle.aspx?... . I don't know what the difference is between Sage 50 and Sage v24, but the specs all seem fairly basic.
Comparing to what I know, I see a minimum system for a game as a very basic machine that could technically run the game, but you don't really want to. Would something like the machines in the screenshot run the stuff properly, without slowing down and being as useful as a potato?

Make sure it has an SSD as that makes a huge difference to overall performance. I'd recommend to avoid the machines with a 128GB SSD as space could get tight later with Windows updates, applications, copies of accounts data etc. A laptop with a 240 or 250GB drive might save an upgrade.
Out of those listed, I'd take the T430 which is top-left. If they wanted something new, this is a good spec

You don’t need massive spec for line 50 or payroll, the main thing with them for speed and reliability is the quantity of data in them. If you have 10’s of k’s of Products and hundreds of k’s Of transactions it’s gonna be slow whatever the spec. If your just messing about for a course it’ll be ok on a cheapie machine.

Should be fine. Even a tiny bit of overkill, you could get away with an i3 + 4GB RAM but I'd say go with the i5 and 8GB if your mate's happy with the price. Lenovos are pretty reliable, also check out Dell. What kind of spec laptop spec do you need to run Sage accounts and payroll software? If you want to spend some extra money, go with the SSD as suggested as this will speed up disk operations but it's not going to make a huge difference with Sage and Office.
