After being upgraded for free with NTL my linespeed is........zactly the same, I can see the day when the whole web just grinds to a halt, what's the point of a superfast connection when every site runs so slow and there is so much filtering, pop ups and firewalls

Every site doesnt run slow, I host some blisteringly quick sites, without popups, without banner adds, without treacle speeds.

Faster connections mean richer content availabiity, TV will be revolutionised, no longer will you recieve it via a sat dish, in the future you will just select what you want to watch, and it will stream live for you, Pay as you go TV.

Just one of the many great advances more speed allows

dont forget, in the UK we are the poor cousins of the rest of the world, American has hundred meg + to houses, Japan has Gbit (1000mbit) to houses, Sweeden and italy have 20mbit +

and we rejoice at our 1-2 mbit
