OK, i'm looking for a home wireless security setup. What I need is a couple of wireless cameras, some that are weather proof, and all triggered by motion. I'd then like to have these integrated to my PC wireless network, so the video is recorded to my choice of PC on the network. It would also be good to access any camera by the web, so i guess there needs to be a web server somewhere....

So, what do I need and where can I get it?

Many cameras now have built-in web servers, like the D-Link securicams at www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/default_ShopGroup.asp?ShopGroupID=32

Once you go outdoors it gets more expensive, either weatherproof cameras or housings. The cameras need mains power, so you're looking at cabling whether the cameras are wireless or not

There are some cameras that have their own built in web servers.

Try Axis I think, they do loads, and the software to record the output. Also look look for pivot, tilt and zoom functionality and low light sensitivity.

On a similar theme;

How can I set up my home CCST (which is PIR activated and feeds a video input to the SCART socket on a TV or VCR) to be viewed over tinnynet?

Presumably I need to feed the video stream to my PC video card and then setup my PC as a server which I can log into. But how would I access the video and would it require broadband for the bandwith?

Problems, problems.
