Hi,
I am about to buy a Sony Laptop the K415B. However it only comes with a basic 2-year warranty. Can I get extended cover from a third party to cover accidental breakage in the 3-5 years of ownership? The shop will not offer this to me.
Thanks,
William

If its breakage you're worried about, why not specify the laptop on your household insurance policy and make sure that it is covered when away from the house.

After 2 years I wouldn't bother. IMHO an average 2 year old laptop isn't worth enough to bother fixing in the event of catastrophic breakage.

PC World were running an insurance policy a while back that paid out the cash you paid rather than replacing the item.

So £2K laptop

2 years 355 days later, whoops, down the stairs.

£2000 refund.

Unsuprisingly, they pulled it.
