Is it possible to record internet radio on the fly?

You can do it with Windows media recorder thingy.

Start Menu -> Programs -> Accessories -> Entertainment -> Sound recorder.

Only thing is you will need to mess around with your sound settings.

Go to control panel, and select Sound and audio devices, then the audio tab, and then select the "volume" button for your recording device.

Now with the radio playing, press record on the windows sound recorder and watch the sound display as you switch the check box between the recording controls. I think you need "stereo mix" but I'm not sure. Once you find the one (you will know as you will be able to see the sound being recorded) then you can just tweak the volume.

The recorder will give you a .wav file which you should have no problems getting onto CD using media player or real player.

Thanks for your replies.Is there a way to burn straight to CD without it staying on the hard drive?

Yes, Replay Radio generates an mp3 file which you can then play back on any mp3 player or burn to cd.

If you use windows sound recorder then the resulting wav files can also be burned to cd but of course they will be much bigger than mp3 files for the same content.

In fact, i've just remembered, Replay Radio will even burn the cd for you at the end of recording if you wish.
