Got a letter from VM, tunnel bear only gives you only 500mb, will get through that in no time
So I'm guessing the ultimate in privacy isn't what you're after and you just want your traffic encrypted leaving your house so your ISP doesn't see what you're doing through it's routine scans? In which case you'll be OK with most providers I should think, although free is not often a great solution with either performance issues or, as you've discovered, data caps. This site normally has a decent selection of deals:https://stacksocial.com/search?cat=477&query=V...
or have a read of the later comments on here to see if anything floats your boat feature wise:

I use NordVPN. They do not store logs and have lots of servers. However there is a speed penalty like with any VPN. You can subscribe for about £100 for 3 years at the moment (inc VAT).
- They SAY they do not store logs.
The important part is the statement how the audit is only applicable to the time when the audit was completed.
Apologies for bumping an old thread but I'm currently considering getting NordVPN as it's on sale.
My main reason for the VPN is for privacy and also to avoid annoying adverts and trackers.
I have a mate who is a web developer and I'm surprised by how much information is easily available server-side.
I have a few questions on this:
1) Does this cause any issues with banking? I use my PC for banking but also now use mobile apps
2) How effective is the ad block feature for NordVPN? I currently use AdBlock which is brilliant however on some website I have to disable Javascript to view the content, either that or allow all adverts
3) Can you really feel the speed penalty on day to day use? I have 70/20 fibre and would really like to make most use of it without too much restriction on the bandwidth
4) Does NordVPN work well on iPhones?
5) Does the broadband supplier have any impact on which VPN I go for?

1 - No issues at all, It just masks your IP. Unless your bank is blocking access from certain locations (very unlikely) you'll be fineMy main reason for the VPN is for privacy and also to avoid annoying adverts and trackers.

2 - Not very effective. If you want to block ads I'd suggest setting up a pihole at home on a raspberry pi.
3 - Any VPN will reduce speed but I've not found this noticeable with standard browsing when using Nord VPN
4 - Yes works well with the App. Or you can even setup OpvenVPN profiles if you wish to use a different app
5 - No
I use Nord and can't fault them. They're one of the best but bare in mind while you may be able to hide info from your ISP. If someone from Nord side wanted to view data, they can.

https://go.nordvpn.net/aff_c?offer_id=15&aff_i...Hi all,
Sorry to jump on the VPN train but how does this VPN work / how do you set it up ? I have numerous devices at home that then leave my house via a static ip that Ive got from vodaphone. Do I have to setup some PC with vpn that my devices then have to go via to then hide IP ?
Ive also seen the NodicVPN sale and was thinking it's about time that I think VPN as I do a lot of bit torrent downloads.
Advice from the experienced users / setter uppers would be gratefully recieved :-)

Dont overlook the fact that one of nord vpn's servers was compromised and they were slow to admit it.
Also remember that your metadata such as sites visited can still be collected at the point your vpn terminates (the vpn provider).
vpn's tend to be marketed as the solution to everything, when in fact many dont actually need one.
If i'm out and about and need to bypass any local controls i vpn back to my home firewalll and it makes appear at home.
