They are offering cable in my area and much cheaper than Virgin etc. Worth switching?

I'm with them purely as they were the cheapest when my contract came to an end a few months ago. No complaints at all, decent router, enough for my needs.

£24 a month, all in, inc. line rental. No complaints, works perfectly.

Someone will shortly tell you they are terrible too. Same with all IPs tbh

Excellent, was another thread... I’ll try to find..

Anyway

Separate your channels correctly and prioritise your devices, then no issues, I’ve got 35 speed for 20 pcm.

Do you have Virgin Fibre?
If yes i’d keep it a week or two after the Vodafone (or any other Openreach) is installed.
Then if it’s not up to scratch you can cancel & keep the Virgin.
(Openreach BB is rubbish at mine so I kept Virgin, we’ll worth the extra £10!)

Moved over from BT around 10 months ago £27.00 p.m. all in.

Fed up of BT increasing the prices each time it came to contract renewal.

Got a GoPro Hero from Vodafone as a welcome gift too.

No complaints so far from me.

Avoid - their Huawei OEM routers are an utter PoS. Voda are known to dodge that responsibility by saying they are providing the speed quoted to the router.

Can't wait for our contract to expire.

I am, have been since October. Not paid full price for a month yet because they haven't been able to meet the minimum speed guarantee!

Have Openreach been out yet? To say no fault found & within spec etc etc
But their line is still rubbish & Vodafone get a kicking!

Shambolic getting it set up, took weeks, sent router to wrong address, tech support couldn't give me a straight answer as to why it wasn't. Now working and customer service are okay if you get past their Indian service centre...their live chat is fking useless tho

We've got Virgin and the router is absolute garbage. Maybe later ones are slightly better, but despite having a 100meg service we experience major problems if we try to stream from more than two devices in the house.

I did have Vodafone broadband (not fiber) at my old place and the router was absolutely fine, service was reliable and pretty fast too (around 30 meg iirc, and it would happily handle more than a couple of devices streaming at the same time)

I thought the VF broadband support was based in Stoke, not really offshore, although it is something like a different country.

Yep,

all good! The router provided is pretty decent and you can make changes from the app.

Like others have said, ensure you split your 2.4ghz and 5ghz channels with seperate SSID's and passwords to ensure best connections!

If it is, they do their best impersonation of an Indian service centre. They are absolutely dreadful.

Ha ha yes they have. It runs about 45-50mb I think, but I'm on the up to 75mb contract. It's quick enough and they are obviously just charging me for the next level down now.

Dreadful service. Been with them a year or so and all has been OK. On 23 May the landline and broadband service died while I was away. Rang on 29 May and they did a line test and confirmed a fault is present. Despite multiple follow-up calls still not resolved, OpenReach is finally (allegedly) booked to investigate tomorrow. What a shower. ~32mbs FTTC and landline for £21/month - now I know why it’s so cheap!

Yep, no troubles here. Don't think the router is up to much, but run mine through Google Mesh Wi-Fi and it's perfect.

I suspect my issue is something dead simple such as OpenReach inadvertently disconnecting something when they were doing other work so it will be sorted quite quickly.

In my eyes a company's true abilities come to the fore when there's an issue - how do they deal with the unexpected. So far VF has been the proverbial shower of sh*t. They've said "sorry" countless times but don't seem to have actually *done* anything.

My connection kept dropping every evening for a couple of weeks, always around the same time. Vodafone rang me to go through some stuff, used video chat to show them my setup. They said my router should be high up on the wall and I need to move it there!
Also separated my WiFi SSID's as they said this would also fix it. Also wanted me to put my router right next to the wall socket, rather than the 5m extension cable (there is no power or space for the router to sit next to the phone socket)
Funnily enough my problem continued for a while after, the support guy never called me back 2 days later, like he promised.
Not impressed with the service, Sky was better, but they put their prices up. I never had an issue with the router or SSID's when it was Sky and the connection was solid

My ex is on Sky and is generally having a fairly lousy service - slow, unreliable. Currently trying to go through troubleshooting another round of problems, and have so far been unable to actually speak to anyone. Eventually configured an account to run their remote diagnostics, and that was a pain - I couldn't configure an account via the desktop browser, it only worked from the mobile. Each time trying to configure via the desktop and their services errored.
