Workload and workflow mgt software
Discussion
Not sure if this belongs here or in the Jobs/Employment forum. I've been asked by my employer to help put in a team/group-level workload management system. We have a fairly disparate workload and not a lot of people doing it, and would like something that can help us track where we are with different items across the team, without having lots of meetings.
The sort of thing I'm looking at is Asana or Monday or Process St if you're familiar with what I'm writing.
In large organisations, on multi-$Bn projects, I've used Sharepoint and its been very good, but requires a fair amount of its own admin. We need something that can be intuitive to use and tweak, for a team of about 15-20, working across about 50/60 work items.
All and any views/thoughts/advice welcomed, esp if it comes from experience.

Jira by Atlasian can be made to work okay depending on specific requirements.
You can track multiple tasks in the scope of a project, and have multiple project boards, who is assigned to tasks, along with collaborators and numerous other details should you require them.
There may well be better options than this, but it might be worth a look.
I can't speak to its actual reporting abilities as I don't have that level of access personally.
Others may have better or worse experiences with it.

So Jira can certainly do this and is reasonably cost effective at the sort of user tiers you are talking about. If you’re familiar with Kanban boards as a way of managing work then Trello, also by Atlassian, is a lighter weight alternative that may even suit your use case with the free version.

Jira FTW. My advice would be to keep it simple with just a few project boards. You will need to police updates though to ensure that tasks are updated as they are progressed...You can track multiple tasks in the scope of a project, and have multiple project boards, who is assigned to tasks, along with collaborators and numerous other details should you require them.
